How Self- Reflection Can Make You a Better Mom

I think we can safely come to the conclusion that being a better person or being better at something resonates in our mind more than we would care to admit. It haunts us when we fail at something we expected to do flawlessly or at least without failing miserably in the presence of people who expect better from us and are looking up to us for guidance.

When our heads hit the pillow at night, our thoughts run through all that happened during the day. Then we begin to doubt ourselves, if we are really cut out for this job of raising well adjusted kids who are watching our every move with keen eyes and will most likely act the way we do. Can you relate?

What is Self-Reflection?

It means doing an impartial rumination in our minds of the tears, tantrums, yells and spanking of the day to determine how and if we could have handled them differently and perhaps, the outcome would have been different too. Healthy self examination does not include constant self judgment that can lead to fear and hopelessness.
