Bournvita Tech Boot Camp 2022: Empowering STEM Dreams

Cadbury Bournvita in partnership with Edusko will be offering 500 Nigerian children a STEM scholarship in 2022, via the Bournvita Tech Boot Camp platform. The 2022 edition of Bournvita Tech Boot Camp will feature an improvement to the existing curriculum by adding 2 new modules: Computer vision with Machine Learning & AI and Explore science with Space Technology. 

Preexisting modules are: Robotics & Software Development, Gaming & 2D Animation, and 21st-century skills – Collaboration, Communication, Problem-solving, Creativity and Critical thinking, will also be included in the curriculum.

How to Register:

  • Buy a 500g or 900g Bournvita jar.
  • Make a one-minute video of your child discussing, “If you were to develop a technology to solve a problem, what would it be? Tell us the problem and the technology.”
  • Show preparation and consumption of Bournvita in the video, using the 500g or 900g jar.

Summer Coding Boot Camp 2022

Register your child to learn to code for building websites, apps and games.

Date: 1st August 2022 through 26th August 2022. 

Duration: six weeks 

Training fee: begins at N8,000

NextGen Summer Boot Camp

Date: Sunday, August 7 2022 

Time: 10:00 am

Venue: The Bulb, 39 Ikorodu Road, Lagos, Nigeria.

At NextGen Africa, we created our Robotics + Python program, which combines robotics and coding instruction with a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

This summer, your child will learn how to build a robot using Python code. They will also learn how to use their new skills to solve real-world problems like traffic jams. We offer hands-on learning opportunities that create real change in children's lives.

Duration: six weeks and is structured around fun and exciting projects that challenge students' minds while allowing them to build confidence in their abilities.

2022 Hybrid Coding Boot Camp Cohort 2

The Visiola Foundation’s Coding Boot camp is an intensive five-week hybrid training program that will provide participants with a strong foundation upon which to build their careers as computer programmers and tech entrepreneurs.  

Date: July 4th – August 5th, 2022. It will run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. daily, Monday to Friday.

Courses available: Full Stack Web Development, Data structures and algorithms UI/UX. 

They will work on individual assignments and group challenges to enhance their learning, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities. This will serve as a foundation upon which they will mature into successful software developers and IT professionals. The boot camp aims to encourage more girls to pursue technical careers by empowering them with vital knowledge to facilitate their success. The boot camp will end with a closing competition and demo day. Students working in teams will be given capstone projects to work on after which they will join an alumni network to be connected with leading employers.

The specific objectives of the coding boot camp are:

  • A stronger foundation in computer science.
  • Increased knowledge and confidence in programming.
  • Developed web applications and programs.
  • Greater interest and be well equipped to pursue high-wage technical careers.

Through this hybrid coding boot camp, the Visiola Foundation seeks to increase the number of women in computer science to create a pipeline of professionals who will leverage technology in developing innovative solutions to Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.

Topics to be treated: Html, CSS, Data structures, Algorithms, Python(Flask) and UI/UX design.

Fee: the camp is free, but students are required to pay an N2,000 application fee.
