Tips for Being a Savvy Mom

  • Know and believe that you are enough. You do not have to be like anyone else, you are unique and so is your approach to taking care of your issues. This is not to say that you cannot learn from other people's lives, you can. Just don't put pressure on your self to be who or what you are not.
  • Get a life and I mean now. Don't wait until something great happens like your children no longer being dependent on you or when you get shelved a particular issue. Life is happening every day while you are waiting for the perfect time. Do something new or different like get that skill, write a book, go back to school or start that business. It will put a new spark in your life and your family will also love this new you even if you are a stay at home mom.
  • Know your worth and speak up for yourself. You know you better than anyone else so don't let someone else define you and don't leave your life to chance.
  • Whether you are a working mom or a stay at home mom, your life is no less easy. There are a lot of misconceptions about stay at home moms, it is still work whether you get paid in cash or thank yous, hugs and kisses.
  • Get your finances in order. This isn't just about money, it includes your hopes, dreams, desires and your financial future.
  • Lastly but by no means the least, anchor your faith in God. He is the only one who doesn't fall shot of expectations, your spouse and friends may. They are only human and come to think of it, so are you.
Being a savvy mom is a growth process. Don't get so engrossed in trying to figure out everything that you forget to enjoy your every day blessings. You are a great mom, know that and give yourself some peace. Whether you are a single mom, divorced or widowed, do your best to care for yourself, people and causes you are involved in.
