Walking In The Reality Of God's Call For Women

A woman walking towards her call

A woman's influence is a powerful tool, most especially if it is channelled in a positive direction. Women in times past have been at the forefront of revolutionary change in the world so you can imagine the kind of difference a praying woman who is submitted to God can birth when she walks with God.

God has a special interest in the lives of women. Mothers have gone through childbirth and the labour of raising kids so they understand the heart of God towards his children. This is why women can devote time to stay in the place of prayer for their children and families until change comes. It does not mean that men do not pray, they do, just not with the same intensity that women do.

God's call on women

Women are called to stand at the gates of their husbands' and children's destinies and guard them with prayer. Children are our foundation and families are the bedrock of every society. The more the institution of marriage is eroded, the more harm the enemy can do. Divorce could breed mistrust, hate, and unforgiveness and children raised in dysfunctional families are broken. If the cycle keeps repeating itself, the world would be a dangerous place to be in.

This is where God calls women, to build a hedge around their families so that the plans of the enemy are thwarted. In the place of prayer, all things are possible, as long as you believe and dare to keep waiting for the answers you desire to manifest.

What is God's purpose for mothers?

To rebuild the broken walls of the family: Broken homes resulting from divorce, dysfunctional families, recalcitrant children, and husbands that have abdicated from their roles have taken a huge toll on the family unit and even Christian homes are not left out. A Christian mother's role is to stand against the wiles the enemy of our faith and contend for the lives and destinies of her husband and kids.

To raise young models in the Church to secure the future of the Church: nurturing our kids and modelling the love of God as well as the life of a Christian are the primary responsibilities of women as caregivers in the home.

How to walk in the call of God as a woman

1. Fasting and prayer:
Luke 2:36-38 - And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

2. Raising children according to God's word: Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

3. Modelling the love of God:
1 Peter 3:1-2 - Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

4. Having the fear of God:
Exodus 1:15-21 - And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah... But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men's children alive... Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

When?

Now and right where you are. If your husband and children are not believers you can still stand in faith and the will of God will be done in their lives. If you are a young mother with little children or not a mother yet you can still pray for your unborn kids. This is the best time to seek God for their lives. I am a firm believer in praying ahead of time rather than waiting until I'm boxed into a corner and I have seen God honour my faith in him.

Women who walked in God's purposes in the Bible

Shiprah and Puah:
Exodus 1:17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men's children alive.

Deborah:
Judges 5:7 - The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.

Josheba:
2 Kings 11:2 - But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

Lois and Eunice:
2 Timothy 1:5 -  When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

What does God's word say about mothers?

1. Gives life:
Genesis 3:20And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

4. Disciplines:

5. Models:
